Site maintenance demoA picture is often worth a thousand words. Use our interactive demo to find out just how easy it can be to maintain a web site.At the core of most content management systems, apart from a database to hold the page information, is what is known as a 'maintenance suite'. This is nothing more than a set of web-based forms that allow prompt and easy amendment of web pages. Maintenance suites can be more or less complex, depending on the desired result - a small, plain website demands much less than, say a large, categorised product catalogue. So, without more ado, here are examples of very simple add page and amend page maintenance forms that just allow you to create an Albedo web page. (These pages are not stored, of course, but in real life they would be placed in a database pending publication to the site. Publication from a database also allows ready indexing to enable a site search facility.) Add a page Amend a page Finally, note that the above is actually a hugely cut-down version of the actual suite we use to maintain this Albedo site. But, in fact, we do preview pages in exactly this way, before publishing them. Our system, in turn, is a souped-up version of the content management system we use for all our smaller sites. |
